In Pokhara and the Annapurnas, your safety comes first. The guarantee covers every weather-dependent activity: tandem paragliding, ultralight flights, white-water rafting and bungee.
Grounded by the weather
Free rescheduling to the next available clear slot, with no extra charge.
Leaving Pokhara before then
A full refund, with no cancellation penalty.
An activity counts as grounded when the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, the Nepal Airsports Association or your certified pilot stops flights because of wind, rain or low visibility, or, for rafting, when the river crew or authorities close the river because water levels are unsafe. You don't need to ask: we move or refund the booking automatically and message you.
If you decide not to go on a day the operator has declared safe, the standard terms for adventures in the table below apply.
These terms apply unless the listing states its own. The terms on the listing and on your confirmation are always the ones that count, and you see them before you pay.
| What you booked | Refund window | Cancelling later |
|---|---|---|
| Stays and homestays | Full refund up to 48 hours before the 1:00 PM check-in | Non-refundable, unless the listing says otherwise |
| Sarangkot and ridge lodges | Full refund up to 72 hours before check-in, as rooms are limited | 50% refund |
| Long stays, 14 nights or more | 50% of the deposit back up to 14 days before move-in | Deposit not refunded |
| Guided treks | Full refund up to 7 days before departure, minus permit fees once issued | Permit fees not refunded; the listing sets the rest |
| Paragliding, ultralight, rafting and bungee | Full refund up to 24 hours before your slot. Weather cancellations always free | As shown on the listing |
| Scooters, motorbikes and jeeps | Full refund up to 6 to 24 hours before pickup, shown on each vehicle | As shown on the listing. Deposits are returned after inspection. |
| Guides, events, food and shopping | Set by each listing and shown before you pay | As shown on the listing |
Trekking packages need government conservation permits (ACAP and TIMS) issued in advance through the Nepal Tourism Board. Once a permit has been registered against your passport, its fee is non-refundable by law. For the Annapurna region that is NPR 5,000 per foreign trekker (ACAP NPR 3,000 and TIMS NPR 2,000), or NPR 2,000 for SAARC nationals.
The rest of the package, including guide and porter fees and teahouse deposits, is refundable in full up to 7 days before departure. Within 7 days, the trek listing shows how much of the balance is returned.
If a host, guide or operator cancels a confirmed booking, you get a full refund, and our Lakeside team will help you find a comparable alternative at the same price where one exists.
The same applies when a landslide, road closure, strike or government restriction stops a service from running: we reschedule it free of charge or refund you in full, as with the weather guarantee.
- Open Trips and bookings (Profile in the tab bar on your phone).
- Choose the booking you want to cancel and check the refund shown.
- Confirm the cancellation. We email you and the partner straight away.
No access to your account? Contact us with your booking reference and we will cancel it for you. The time you contact us counts as the time of cancellation.
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method:
- eSewa, Khalti or a Nepali bank: processed within 24 to 48 business hours.
- International credit and debit cards: settled within 3 to 7 business days, depending on your issuing bank.
Card refunds are made in NPR. If you paid in another currency, the amount you receive can differ slightly because of your bank's exchange rate.
